Use the following options to specify the host computer:

 

Session Name(Optional) Enter a name for this session. Use the session name to refer to this tailored session for future connections. If no session name is specified, it defaults to the host name.

 

Host NameEnter the host name of the host computer. You may specify multiple host names separated by commas (e.g. 127.0.0,1,127.0.0.2)  If connection to the first host name in the list fails, TN3270 Plus attempts to connect to the second host name in the list and so on throughout the list. If you do not know the domain name or IP address, contact the network administrator at the host computer site.

 

Telnet PortEnter the telnet connection port number. This is normally 23.

 

Terminal TypeSelect the terminal type.
3270IBM mainframe (z/VM, VSE, z/OS, MVS or OS/390)
3270 PrinterIBM mainframe 3287 printer session
5250AS/400
5250 PrinterAS/400 printer session
VT100UNIX
VT220UNIX
ANSIUNIX

 

3270 and 3270 Printer are not displayed if you have not licensed the 3270 Terminal feature.

5250 and 5250 Printer are not displayed if you have not licensed the 5250 Terminal feature.

3270 Printer and 5250 Printer are not displayed if you have not licensed the Print feature

VT100 and VT220 are not displayed if you have not licensed the VT/ANSI Terminal feature.

 

Advanced ButtonClick to display the Session Setup dialog box . Use the Session Setup dialog box to further customize your session.

 

Connection typeCheck the Telnet, SSL or SSH radio button to specify the connection type. The SSL selection defaults to the SSLv3 protocol with no server certificate options.The SSH selection defaults to the "SSHv1 or SSHv2" protocol and password authentication. If you wish to change the SSL or SSH configuration defaults, click the Advanced button to display the Session Setup dialog box; Select "Security" in the Setup Items list box to display the Security pane. Use the Security pane to modify the default SSL or SSH settings.
 
The SSL button is disabled if you have not licensed the SSL Feature.
The SSH button is disabled if you have not licensed the SSH Feature.
 
Show Connect Dialog at startupCheck this box if you want the Connect to Host dialog box to appear each time you start TN3270 Plus. If this box is not checked, the Connect to Host dialog box does not appear when TN3270 Plus is started.

 

Click on one of the following buttons:

 

Connect ButtonConnect the session defined in the dialog box.

 

Cancel ButtonCancel the dialog without taking any action.

 

Help ButtonDisplays help information for this dialog box.
